Five common reasons venues say no to photo booth marketing

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

You're used to making strategic calls with not quite enough budget, weighing risk carefully, and protecting every pound. When something new comes up, the bar is high, and rightly so.

But occasionally, an idea gets ruled out before it has a fair hearing. Photo booths are one of the most effective engagement tools for venue marketing - yet chances are, one has already crossed your mind and been dismissed.

Here are the five most common misconceptions that stop venues from saying yes.

1. We don't have the budget for a photo booth

This is the big one. And it's also the easiest to answer.

You don't need any extra budget. There’s no upfront investment, no monthly contract, and no maintenance fee.

Our partnership model is built around a simple idea: we handle everything related to your venue’s photo booth. In return, we take a share of the profit from each photo sold, with the remainder paid directly to you each month.

What we do:

  • Design your booth using your branding

  • Create custom software

  • Build the physical booth

  • Delivery and installation

  • Ongoing maintenance

What you do:

  • Talk to us about your venue and brand

  • Discuss the perfect positioning

  • Get the first go when it’s delivered!

  • Watch your share of the profit land every month

The extra revenue stream is just the beginning. A fully integrated photo booth becomes a mini-marketing machine: building your email list with every single visit, generating organic branded content you never have to commission, driving repeat footfall, and pulling customers towards other parts of your venue.

All of it working for you, every single day, without you having to lift a finger.

2. Someone on the team thinks photo booths are a bit, erm, tacky

This is probably the most awkward one for you to bring up. We hear it more than you'd think, and we're always glad when people say it out loud.

Because we know exactly where it comes from… memories of orange curtains and a rickety stool in a booth stuck in the draftiest corner of the train station. Photos that had to be taken against a plain background because they were destined for a passport. It was still fun, but there was nothing personal about it, for the user or the brand.

But that world is gone and the modern version shares almost nothing with it, except the giggling.

We've never built the same booth twice. Every single one is custom-designed and branded for the venue it lives in. Whether that's a boutique hotel, a heritage museum, a high-end restaurant, or a buzzing food court. The finish, the colours, the software, and the print templates are all tailored to feel like a natural part of your space.

Need more ammunition?

Well, if it’s good enough for Chanel. They’re not one of our clients, but they recently used a photo booth in their campaign to announce Pedro Pascal as their new brand ambassador, and installed one in their London store. When one of the world's most iconic luxury brands is using one, the ‘tacky’ argument tends to disappear pretty fast.

3. Aren't photo booth prints full of chemicals?

This used to be a legitimate concern. Older booths were chemical-based and produced wet prints that smelled weird and had to be carefully held while they dried. If you touched them too soon, they were ruined.

Modern booths are completely different. Everything’s digital, clean, and entirely electrical. No chemicals, fumes, or legacy hardware.

While some companies are restoring the old booths to replicate the historical experience, chemicals and all, that’s not what we do.

From a safety and compliance perspective, our photo booths are treated exactly the same as any other electrical appliance. You don’t need to organise or monitor extra safety checks, certificates, or equipment.

We take care of delivery and make sure everything’s properly installed before we leave.

4. It's another thing I'll have to fix when it breaks

You might be thinking, “All of that sounds great, but what happens when something goes wrong?” You signed off on it, so you'll be the one expected to sort it.

But that’s not how we do things. Monitoring and maintenance are our departments. Most issues are spotted and resolved remotely before you even notice. When something needs a physical fix, one of our engineers comes to you.

Sometimes booths need updating or replacing for new branding, a fresh look for a new campaign, or a full replacement as the kit ages. We sort that out too.

A broken booth isn’t making either of us any money, and neither of us wants to disappoint your customers. If there’s ever a problem, just let us know and we’ll handle it.

Our outdoor booths are regularly refreshed so they always look their best, even after sitting in the wind and rain.

5. A photo booth won't fit with our vibe

You don’t need to worry about a one-size-fits-all machine sitting awkwardly in the corner of your carefully curated space - that's not what this is. It's a bespoke piece, built to belong in your venue.

Our entire process is built around your space, identity and customers. Everything is built around the experience you want your guests to have, physically and digitally.

We work with you to find the perfect spot for your booth, so that it feels like it’s a natural part of your guests’ journey through your venue. They discover it at exactly the right moment to capture the good time they’re already having.

Because that's what a photo booth does best. It takes the feeling your venue has already created and gives guests a way to hold onto it. Something tangible, personal, and tied to the memory of being there. That emotional connection between the fun they had and the place they had it is powerful. It's what keeps them coming back and means they can’t wait to tell everyone else about you.

Ready to see what your photo booth looks like?

Every concern on this list is completely valid. And every single one of them disappears once you see how our model actually works in practice.

You don’t need to risk anything, with no extra workload or upfront investment. You’ll give your guests a custom-branded, interactive experience they’ll love.

And give your business  an extra revenue stream and mini marketing machine that gets on with it all by itself.

We'd love to answer any specific questions and show you how great your photo booth could look. Here’s how to get in touch.
